Store Specialist (EMS Background with Electronics Components Expertise)

Position Overview

The Store Specialist is responsible for overseeing thestore's operations, including inventory control, kitting, monthly auditing, and stock reporting.This role also involves managing dead stock inventory and ensuring the seamless availability of electronic components for manufacturing processes in an EMS (Electronics ManufacturingServices) environment.

 Key Responsibilities
  1. Inventory Management
    • Maintain accurate records of allinventory transactions in the ERP system.
    • Conduct daily and weekly stockchecks to ensure real-time inventory accuracy.
    • Manage the storage andtraceability of electronic components to prevent damage or obsolescence.
  2. Kitting Operations
    • Prepare accurate and completekits based on production schedules and Bill of Materials (BOM).
    • Ensure all required components are included,labeled, and organized for seamless handover to production teams.
    • Address and resolve issues related to missingor incorrect kit items promptly.
  3. Monthly Auditing and Annual Stock Reporting
    • Perform monthly audits of stock to identifydiscrepancies and ensure compliance with company standards.
    • Generate detailed monthly inventory auditreports for management review.
    • Lead the annual stock-taking process,including planning, execution, and reconciliation.
    • Present comprehensive annual stock reports,highlighting trends, issues, and recommendations for improvement.
  4. Dead Stock Inventory Management
    • Identify and maintain a database of dead stockand slow-moving components.
    • Collaborate with procurement and engineeringteams to find alternatives for utilizing or liquidating dead stock.
    • Implement strategies to minimize dead stockaccumulation and enhance inventory turnover.
  5. Material Handling
    • Inspect and verify incomingshipments for quality, quantity, and compliance.
    • Ensure components are storedunder optimal environmental conditions and labeled for traceability.
    • Organize and update the storagelayout to maximize efficiency and accessibility.
  6. Procurement and Supplier Coordination
    • Work with the procurement team to ensure thetimely replenishment of components.
    • Monitor supplier performance and coordinatethe return of defective or non-compliant materials.
    • Support sourcing and qualification ofalternate components when needed.
  7. Documentation and Reporting
    • Maintain accurate documentation for allinventory transactions, audits, and stock adjustments.
    • Provide management with regular reports onstock levels, kitting accuracy, dead stock status, and inventory efficiency.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO standards andEMS-specific storage and reporting regulations.
  8. Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Partner with production, quality, andengineering teams to meet material and kitting requirements.
    • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) bymanaging prototype kits and tracking special components.
    • Communicate proactively about materialshortages or quality concerns.
  9. Safety and Compliance
    • Implement and enforce ESD (ElectrostaticDischarge) protocols in all material handling and storage areas.
    • Ensure safe handling and disposal of defectiveor obsolete components as per environmental standards.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliantstorage area.
Required Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics,Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventorymanagement, kitting, or store operations in the EMS industry.
  • Knowledge of electronic components, BOMstructures, and handling requirements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and MS Excel forinventory management, reporting, and analytics.
  • Experience with stock auditing andreconciliation processes.
Preferred Skills
  • Familiarity with ISO standards andEMS-specific inventory requirements.
  • Experience managing dead stock and improvinginventory turnover.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, andproblem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and JIT(Just-In-Time) principles.
